Salisbury University invites you to Synergy, the 59th Biannual Senior Art Exhibition. Synergy depicts not

only the diversity of art majors and mediums practiced, but additionally individualistic style and

techniques that have been acquired at Salisbury University. The versatile artists collectively come

together creating a synergistic effect propelling the show forward through diverse harmony. Upon

graduation, these graduating seniors will go onto various career paths such as interior design, graphic

work, advertising, photography, education, art therapy and more.

Synergy is the product of a course instructed by Professor Jinchul Kim to prepare graduating art students

and for them to learn first-hand the professional art exhibition execution process. This art show is

composed of two seperate exhibition locations, The University Gallery located on-campus will include

eleven Graphic Design students, while the University’s Downtown Campus Gallery will be showcasing

eight Fine Art students. Each show will consist of a reception and an awards ceremony. To gain a holistic

overview of each of these students, a display of their portfolios, resumes and business cards will be

included in the reception.

Both exhibitions have free admission and contain light refreshments.

The Fine Arts show will take place November 28-December 15, 2018 with a reception on December 7th

from 5 p.m. – 7p.m. The location for this show is at The Downtown Gallery located at 212 West Main St

in the Gallery Building.

The Graphic Design show will take place November 19 –December 8, 2018 with a reception on Friday,

November 30, 5 p.m. – 7p.m. The University Gallery is located in 109 Fulton Hall on Salisbury

University's campus.

Special thanks to all committees that assisted in making a fantastic show.

This senior exhibition experience has been so special to me, not only because I worked along side so many incredible artists, but also because we all had the pleasure of being taught by Mr. Kim. I have had Mr. Kim as my painting professor for the last three semesters and the greatest quality he has as a professor is his dedication to helping every single one of his students. Our senior exhibition class only met once a week but required much more work out side of class to put together our two shows. Even with this stressful situation, the help and guidance from Mr. Kim never made it seem more than we could handle. And that proved to be true. Both the graphic artists and the fine artists were able to experience what goes into working collaboratively to put together a show that displays everyone’s talents, and it was beautifully successful. We learned how to present ourselves as artists through our statements, resumes, and portfolios as well as so many other behind the scenes aspects of putting on a group show. I am so grateful to have shared this culminating experience with Mr. Kim and the other 19 artists in this exhibition.
